Dear Residents,
There have been 3 incidents reported in the community of vehicle break-ins since Saturday. A gun was stolen out of a truck parked on Divot and a wallet was taken from an automobile on Kitty Hawk. Another vehicle on Kitty Hawk was found with all doors open but nothing was reported missing. The sheriff was able to lift fingerprints off the truck and asked that if anyone else had or does have a break-in, to call the sheriff before you touch anything.A Waller Constable stated he would be patrolling the area a bit more often due to the recent reports. Please take note of all persons and/or vehicles that appear suspicious. Take the time to get a license plate or a good description of the vehicle/person(s) so that it can be passed on to the police. Please lock the doors of your homes and remove any valuables from sight before locking your vehicle. Do not hesitate to call 911 if you see suspicious activity taking place.... better to be safe than sorry. According to police, more often than not, criminals will scope out the places they want to burglarize during the day. Please pass the word on to your next door neighbors about the break-ins. We're better off if everyone is informed, gets involved, and is proactive in preventing the break-ins. Around July 15,the building committee was notified that a trailer was stolen on Sandwedge Drive in the middle of the day! Fortunately, a security camera from the house next door caught the theft on video. A man driving an older model, small Ford pickup truck, possibly a Ford Frontier, pulled in the driveway, got out of the truck and rang the doorbell. When no one answered the door, he hooked the trailer to his truck and drove away. The camera did not get a license plate number, but the truck is bronze colored. If you see this vehicle in the neighborhood, please notify the police immediately. This is another reminder to keep your valuables locked at all times!
